Frequent visitors to the Gosport community Association express complete surprise at the size quality and range of rooms and the large amount of activities contained within the Centre. The Community Centre is fortunate in also having a number of multi-purpose rooms,
several of which can host Conferences, Meetings, Debates, Business Meetings and Private Parties and Social Events.

Over the course of the last two years the Thorngate Halls/Gosport Community Association has been through a major re-organisational programme with the aim of improving standards and offering first rate facilities, hospitality, staffing and community activities for its users.

The Ballroom is the Towns Civic Hall used for the installation of the Mayor, Civic Banquets, large scale Dinner Dances and Conferences etc., whilst the Theatre is the focal point for Drama, Variety and other similar activities within the Town. With ample car parking, and situated on the major bus route the Association’s facilities are well within the reach of all the residents of Gosport, to whom a very warm welcome is extended.

 

THE THORNGATE BALLROOM

The much sought after Thorngate Ballroom offering fully licensed bars is the ideal venue for a formal Dinner Dance, Wedding, Private Party, Concert etc.

Accommodating up to 200 in a formal setting, the number increases to 250 for an informal dance or 300 in concert style.

The well equipped and spacious stage can accommodate the largest of Dance Bands or Disco whilst the sprung floor is without doubt the finest dance floor in the area.

THE THORNGATE THEATRE

In the delightful Thorngate Theatre, Gosport has an asset beyond measure. Licensed to seat 248 in concert style, the Theatre is equipped to fulfill even the most demanding Company in their Production of drama, comedy or musical performances. Complete with stage lighting, orchestra pit, dressing rooms and cavernous stage, the facilities are such that even John Barrymore or Sir Henry’ Irving would be at home “on the boards ‘~

 Complimented by a licensed bar as requisite, the Theatre will comfortably hold up to 150 persons for Private Parties.
