The Gosport Community Assocation is possibly better known as Thorngate Halls and is situated in Bury Road, Gosport, Hants. We welcome everybody to join in our many activities, be it Club, Group, Education or Social.

There is always something interesting and challenging to do, so why not come along and pursue a wide range of activities. Anyone who becomes a member of the Gosport Community Association is entitled to use the Members Lounge located at the front of the complex. Those who are not members of the Association may still use the lounge if they are accompanied by a full member and are signed in.   The clubs entertainment is not restricted to the Members lounge. At times other rooms may be used when large number are expected to attend and/or when food will be made available. Of course members bar prices will always be available in the room that the club is making use of. If you are intending to join the Community Association it is important to bear in mind that children under the age of 14 years are not permitted in the members lounge after 9pm.   All our bars are run by experienced bar staff, professionally guided by the Bar Co-Ordinator - Sarah Walsh & Bar Supervisor - Johan.   The Centre itself is run by a committee which in turn is run by Lynn who is the Chief Executive Officer. She is in charge of the day to day running of the centre. She is closely supported by Sonia & Paula who are an expert team in the office.   Gosport Community Association is certainly one of the major social and recreational facilities in the South, so it is therefore quite surprising to note that a large percentage of the population of Gosport are not even aware of its existence. It has become quite evident to us that many recognise us by our secondary name "Thorngate Halls" not knowing that beyond our prestigious Function Halls lies one of the largest and most successful Community Centres in the area.

The Thorngate Halls is part of the Community Centre complex and forms a very popular venue for private social functions and parties but in addition to this there is a wide range of popular events promoted by the Community Association itself.

We are proud of our achievements at the Centre and we would like to extend an open invitation to everybody to join in our many activities, be it Club, Group, Education or Social that are houses under one roof.

There is always something interesting and challenging to do and a wide range of community activities can be pursued which include Short Mat Bowling, Country and Western Dancing, Variety, Drama and Dance, Floral Art and Table Tennis to name but a few. In addition to this membership of the Association also includes use of the Members Bar which not only offers attractive surroundings but superb activities organisation by the GCA Social Club Entertainments Group.

The Cente offers Preschool and Day Centre facilities and also an interesting and varied programme of Adult Education Classes, the fees of which compare favourably with other Organisations and value for money is the criteria when planning the curriculum.

Although the Centre already caters for all ages and tastes, there may be an interest that our programme does not cover but our friendly staff can be contacted and will be pleased to discuss any ideas and hopefully assist in bringing them into fruition.

We are obviously very proud of our Centre and are therefore delighted to offer a warm welcome to everyone to come along and take a glimpse at the wide range of facilities and activities available. Our Membership at present totals 1200 but there is room for many more! So we invited everybody to come and join us and become part of one big happy family.

Our aim is to improve the quality of life for us all by providing leisure, social and education activities - this we try to do in full measure!
