It you are feeling lonely and depressed and feel that you need to do some thing new with your life why not come along to the Community Centre and join a very friendly Yoga Group, but if you have a medical problem consult your doctor before you join. If you do have a medical problem and your doctor approves you joining a class, you might like to tell the teacher, in complete confidence, so that he or she is aware of your problem and can advise you what you should or should not do and what would be most beneficial for you.
You may find it becomes “A WAY OF LIFE’, which helps you to become more supple, relieves tension and helps you sleep better at night. Yoga not only makes the body more supple it massages the internal organs and helps us mentally, making us more tolerant and relaxed human beings. We can use Yoga during our daily lives to relax tense shoulders that have been bending over a computer all day or driving long distances with all the aggravation of traffic jams etc.! There is no competition in Yoga and it does not matter what other people do in the class. Yoga is for you and your body, so you take the postures or asanas, as we call the exercises in Yoga, as far as you can and no further. “THERE IS NO STRAIN IN YOGA”
We have two classes a week one on Monday afternoon and onother on Wednesday evening. The ages can vary from young to not so young. There is always a very friendly atmosphere. The Wednesday evening is a mixed class so we have ladies and gentlemen. At the moment we have one gentleman in the Monday class and if he continues next term, which I hope he does, then that will be a mixed class also. SO GENTLEMEN do not feel you CANNOT join because you will be the ONLY ONE
Do come along and join us. on either Monday or Wednesday. Some people do both. Wear loose clothing and bring something to lie on like a piece of carpet, rug, exercise mat or just a sleeping bag.
Try not to eat for least an hour before you come as the forward bends will be difficult on a full tummy!
